THE CURATOR - PATSY JOHNSON
Born and raised in beach communities along the California coast, Patsy Johnson is a self taught quilter who began making quilts in 2009. Her love of sewing and textiles began at an early age when her mom taught her at age 6 to sew by hand. She attended fashion design school focusing on design and merchandising and later completed her BA in interdisciplinary studies. Patsy has travelled extensively and many of her global experiences and influences are reflected in her work. Her quilting style continues to change and grow combining her love of color with her interest in blending old and new techniques. Currently her work can be seen and purchased at CRAFTED at the Port of LA.
