Many times you look for a background for that amazing focal point you just completed and there is nothing in your stash or in the quilt shop - nothing that works.
In this class you'll learn to create your own from fabric scraps that you happen to have in your stash.
Instructor Grace Errea of Amazing Quilts by Grace will demonstrate how to create Amazing Randomly Pieced backgrounds. We will discuss the choices of fabric selection for backgrounds that are dynamic and showcase the focal point. We will also discuss how to “mix” the fabrics so that they create a smooth, flawless piece of fabric which then you can use as a background for a quilt.
We will show you how to change value and colors smoothly, how to plan your color/value scheme so that the background works compatibly with the focal point(s) that will be attached to it. And, even thought they are pieced, no points will ever meet, intentionally.
You will practice by creating your own version of the Randomly Pieced Background.
